Hi, I'm sure you will be able to tell I am very new to this site (only just found it in fact). I have had a read through the messages on here and there seems to be a very distinct pattern. Would people agree if I said that this forum offered a great oportunity, but it failed to deliver. There are a small number of members and probably a smaller number still who could be considered regular or contributing to this little online community. I have seen a few people suggesting get togethers or asking to join projects or bounce ideas off other people, and best I can tell none of these things are happening as often as they should, as easily as they should, or even coming to fullfilment as often as they should.
Therefore I would like to ask who here has a serious interest in media in one form or another. Yes thats right, I am brand new and already questioning other people, however if you bear with me hopefully you wont all think I am incredibly rude. My intention is to make a list of people who would like to be considered as 'active members' of this community. I have never studied media, or worked in any part of the industry, in fact the closest claim I think I could make is a role in a school play when I was 10, and since then an Art GCSE is about the most I have to offer. However, I do love films, TV, short films people make and put on youtube and so on. I also love writing my own stories. I havent the first idea of how I could get one made into anything, but I enjoy writing them.
Therefore, looking at what I would have liked this community to be I would have liked to see groups of people who want to act in short films, and dozens of people who are all sharing and developing ideas, people asking if anyone knows a good location, or even just to borrow props. So rather than ask why it isnt like this, lets make it like this.
I am Daniel, I like to write stories, sometimes films, sometimes series, I am also interested in art, computer graphics, and sculpture.
Please do the same thing yourselves, and lets see if we can get a little life into this place and make it a proper community. And along the same lines, tell your friends to do the same. To start the ball rolling a little more, who knows of a place in this area where they do drama where we could advertise this site? My friend does a drama class somewhere so I will ask him where that is but I would imagine there must be quite a few around the whole of the Birmingham area.
Anyway hopefully you dont all think I'm rude or bossy or anything as I am only trying to help but I really do think this could be a great site. I know there are others who feel the same so lets hear from you.
Daniel
